The Ulta return policy is simple, just keep in mind the following items:
- When returning items you’ll be asked to provide a valid government issued ID.
- All returns or exchanges must have the items and its components from the original purchase.
- If you don’t have your receipt, Ulta can use their Ultamate Rewards member number or ulta.com account.
- If you don’ thave your receipt and can’t verify the original price of the item purchased, refunds will be issued as store credit.
- Ulta may limit returns without reason to if suspected misuse of Ulta’s return policy takes place.
- Items not purchased directly from Ulta are not eligible for a return, refund or exchange.

In-Store Purchases
You can now return items to any Ulta Beauty store, and one of their associates will help you.
If you are within the 60 day return policy and provide a purchase receipt, we will refund your money back to the original form of payment. If you do not provide a proof of purchase, you will receive an in-store credit.
When taking advantage of an item’s exchange privilege, no money will be needed in return. Simply bring in the item and you are all set! If you decide on a higher priced item, though, then it may come with a difference in price and sales tax due.
On the other hand, if you get back something of lower value than what was at first exchanged, you will receive the difference in price and sales tax.
Online purchases
Purchases made online at ulta.com or through the Ulta beauty app can be returned back to Ulta via mail or directly to an Ulta store nearest you.
The Ulta return policy states that shipping charges will not be refunded except in certain circumstances such as defective items or incorrectly shipped.
**To avoid returned shipping fees and waiting, you can bring back your merchandise to any of our stores.
Returning Online Purchase back to store
Ulta will gladly process your return if you bring the item, original email order confirmation and packing slip back to the store with all of its original packaging.
Alternatively, you can print your confirmation by logging into your Ulta account, choosining order status and then selecting the order number shown on the bottom of the packing slip. The method is also accessible through your app.
If you return your merchandise within 60 days of the original purchase date and have the email order confirmation and packing slip, Ulta will issue a rerund back to the original payment method. You will receive a refund in the form of a in-store credit if the payment method used was an online payment service such as PayPal.
Online purchases being returned to an Ulta store without proof of purchase (email, order confirmation, and packing slip) are only eligible for an in-store credit at the lowest selling price the item was sold for within the 90 day return period.
Returning online order via mail
Besides returning online purchases in-store, you can mail your order back to Ulta Beauty. You must cover the shipping costs, and CODs are not accepted for returned items. ulta return policy
When an item is returned within 60 days of the order packing slip process date, your refund will be issued in the form of your original payment. If a store gift card was used, Ulta will issue a refund using an Ulta Beauty eGift Card.

Use a reliable shipping method that ensures you can track your return back to Ulta. Return with UPS or the US postal service with insurance.

Once Ulta receives the order and it’s processed and a refund has been issued, Ulta will inform you via email. This information can also be found on your online ULTA account by logging in and then clicking the “order status” button.
Credits are refunded back to a bank or credit card within 7-10 days of the initial notification email being sent.
